FACTS AND INFO'S  for the race



The Cargolux sailing club is now offering offshore-sailing at its finest




This world famous 628 mile race is renowned for being tough. It is the Everest of amateur yacht racing and is widely considered to be one of the most difficult yacht races in the world testing the competitors to the limit 



  The organization is done by Flying Fish, a sailing company with home base in Cowes, South England and in Sydney.

The routing













When?

The training starts on 17. DEC 2012 in Sydney.  The race itself starts on 26.DEC and we expect to arrive in Hobart in good time for the New Years Eve celebrations, Tasmania’s best party of the year.

We should be back in Sydney around 6. JAN 2013. If you need to come back earlier you could catch a flight on 01. or 02. JAN from Hobart back to Sydney.

The program starts with a few days of skills and drills in the Sydney harbor focusing on yacht preparation, spinnaker handling and race role allocation before we take part in a 24 hour offshore qualifying passage as stipulated by the race organizer.
